The debut from Alien Weaponry, Tū, was really likeable and that they where literally kids were just a fun thing, the album was great no matter of their age. Tangaroa is a bit fragmented and bumpy but when it’s heavy it’s really heavy and when it’s groovy it’s groovier than anything.
The ritualistic Maori parts are killer and many riffs are memorable, but the nu metal inclinations isn’t really my cup of soda. Enjoyable metal album from a promising and original band but there’s still room for improvement. I’m waiting for their magnum opus.
